SEAA Senior & U20 Championships – Bedford 1st and 2nd June 2019

Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd July saw our senior and U20 athletes take part in the South of England Championships held at Bedford.

U20 athlete Adam Cross ran well in both the 100m and 200m with season’s bests in both (10.97 and 22.07 respectively). These times are also under the English Schools qualifying standards.

Cat Marriott ran well in the SW after a busy few weekends competing.

Maisey Snaith competed in her first race this season and made an impressive start coming second in the heat and third in the final with a time of 55.84 which places her 10th in the U20 400m rankings and an English Schools qualifying standard. In the SW 800m, Maisey’s training partner Katie Margarson ran a PB.

In a large field of over 20 athletes, Jonathan Escalante-Phillips ran a season’s best to claim a silver medal with a time of 14.55.48.

Curtis Wood narrowly missed out on a gold medal on count back but achieved a season’s best in the Senior Men’s high jump.

Javelin thrower Neve Palmer threw a season’s best of 36.52m.

Will Mallen competed in the U20m triple jump and leaped to a PB of 12.95m.
