National Road Relays 2022 Results

We had some spectacular results in the National Road Relays at Sutton Park on 8th October.  This is an event with a long tradition on a tough course.  All the country’s top teams take part and, for the senior men, teams have to qualify.  There are around 80 teams in the senior events and 60 in the age group events.

In the senior men’s race, C&C qualified two teams.  The A team finished 3rd , after leading for much of the race, and the B team 15th.

The senior women’s A team finished 33rd and the B team 44th.

In the best result of the day, the U17 men’s A team finished 1st and the B team 15th.  Isaac Morris ran the fastest leg of the day in the U17 men’s race.

The U17 women’s A team finished 8th and the B team 34th.

The U15 boys ran 3 teams finishing 21st, 25th and 47th.

The U15 girls were 14th and 30th.

The U13 boys were 5th.

Finally, the U13 girls finished 26th with Jasmine Christmas running the fastest leg of the day for that race.

These are outstanding results – to finish several teams (most clubs only manage to put in one team) in strong positions shows the strength and dedication of the athletes and the quality of their coaches.  Well done to all!
