Mastery at the EMAC

The EMAC Track & Field League was on home ground on Wednesday 22 June 2022, with a sunny evening at Wilberforce Road.

There was a great turnout, and some excellent performances from C&C masters athletes.

C&C Women seized wins in the 100m W35-49 and Triple Jump, with Anne Moindrot running 15.4 and jumping 9.48. In the 1500m W35-49 Sarah Wightman came first in 5:40.5. On the field, Sarah McGrath took Hammer and Shot W35-49 victories with 23.79 and 8.95 respectively.

C&C Men track team were repeatedly denied by Milton Keynes AC and Bedford AC, but came back on the field, with Ali Bajwa winning Shot M50-59 with 10.44, Michael Hausler Shot M60-69 with 13.29, and John Heanley Triple Jump M35-49 with 11.46 and High Jump M35-49 with 1.65.

The sprinters then delivered a sterling performance in the M35 4 x 200m, with John Heaney, Tim Cheshire, Tom Berry and John Morley running 1:45.2, which wasn’t far short of the overall League Record of 1:43.3!
