INTER VARSITY MEETING – CAMBRIDGE 18th MAY 2019

Samuel Clarke continued his phenomenal improvement over the hurdles this season by breaking the U20M 400m hurdles club record that has stood since 1971. His time of 54.20 ensured that Samuel beat the rest of the field by 3 seconds. Not content with one victory against his Oxford rivals, Samuel went on to win the unusual 200m hurdles event and the 110m hurdles to ensure maximum points for the light blues. His 110m hurdles time of 15.31 was yet another PB for Samuel.

Ciaran Flaherty made a welcome return to the track with a PB in the 200m to finish 3rd for CUAC. Catriona Marriott also representing CUAC, competed in the 200m and was rewarded with a 2nd place and PB running under 26 seconds for the first time. Both of these athletes also showed good form in the 400m.

Jonathan Escalante-Phillips ran a season’s best in the men’s 3000m guest race.
