EXCELLENT RESULTS AT NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The National Cross Country Championships were held on Saturday (25th) February 2023 and C&C achieved some excellent results!

More details will follow, but briefly, C&C’s Senior Men’s Team came second. This equals the Club’s best ever performance at the event, we also came second back in 1976 and 1977 during the “Golden Era” of the Tuck brothers.

Jack Gray came a magnificent 2nd, which I believe is the club’s best ever individual finish, beating Grenville Tuck’s 3rd in 1975.

There is more though, the Under 17 Ladies, lead home by Jenny Leggate, were First Team and took National Championship gold medals home with them!

The Under 17 Men were 3rd, and the Under 15 Girls just missed out on a podium finish in 4th place.

These are magnificent results for the club. Congratulations to every C&C representative at the event. Even if you weren’t a scorer for the team you would have pushed on your team-mates, and pushback members of other clubs to increase their points score.

Congratulations as well to all the coaches, you have done such a great job in preparing your athletes for the day.

A proud day for Cambridge and Coleridge A.C.!
