Disability Athletics – Great weekend for the group!
The second weekend in February was a great competition weekend for the disability group, with action across the country.
Framerunner Claire Howard smashed her PB and finished second female overall at the Brands Hatch 10k on 11th February. Claire finished in 39mins 55secs to go under 40 minutes for the first time – an outstanding performance, demonstrating enormous improvement. Well done, Claire!
On the same day, Scott Robertson claimed a silver medal in race two of the Northwest pentathlon series. This is modern pentathlon and includes shooting, swimming and running (in Robbo’s case, wheelchair racing) among other things. Up to the last Olympics it included horse-riding but that has been replaced by a technical run – during which Robbo came close to rolling his chair but managed to stay on one wheel to take the medal.
