Clean Sweep for C&C at the Arkwright 5K

Well done to everyone who ran Royston Runners’ event at Therfield Heath last week. It was a bit of a wet and windy evening, but a fine race to end this year’s series on.

Results are in the link below.  Congratulations to the 52 who ran – and well done in particular to Isabel Mansley (1st female) and Sullivan Smith and Peter Miller (1st and 2nd male).

The final scores for the 2023 season are now settled.  Listed here are just the top 3 in each category, but it was another clean sweep for C&C:

Overall Male Results: 1st Cambridge & Coleridge AC, 2nd Newmarket Joggers, 3rd HI Runners

Overall Female Results: 1st Cambridge & Coleridge AC, 2nd HI Runners, 3rd Newmarket Joggers

Overall Combined Results: 1st Cambridge & Coleridge AC, 2nd Newmarket Joggers, 3rd HI Runners

The best male and female runners of the series (scored across all six races) were Peter Miller (C&C) and Vicki Moignard (CTC).  Congratulations to them both.

Each club is also invited to nominate two of their runners to receive their individual-club trophies at the end of the season. These are awarded based on commitment, performance, contribution and improvement across all six races in the series – so for C&C they went to Sue Brentnall and Ed Mezzetti.  Both were very worthy winners – congratulations!
