Braverman joins parkrun 500 club

Nine people in the world joined parkrun’s 500 club on Saturday 7th October 2023 . . . and Terry Braverman was one of them!

Terry was originally a member of City of Cambridge AC which merged with Coleridge to form Cambridge & Coleridge AC. He remained a member of C&C for some years until he stopped running. A number of years passed until he resumed running and was married to Diana, another C&C stalwart known to many for her running achievements. Several senior C&C members will no doubt remember running in many races over the years with the Bravermans!

A large gathering of friends turned out at Milton Country Park parkun to run, walk or spectate on 7th October to witness and support Terry’s 500th parkrun. Terry did his first parkrun at MCP (when know as ‘Cambridge’) on 30th January 2010 – so it was fitting he returned to complete his 500th where it all began. A few parkrun stats for Terry:

  • 13 years parkrunning
  • Most parkruns in a year: 49 in 2019
  • PB: 23:49 at Milton Country Park parkrun on 4/9/2010
  • Best age grade: 70.98%
  • Best finishing position: 14th
  • Number of locations: 28
  • Volunteer credits: 41
  • Total distance covered to date: 2,505km!

Diana and Terry kindly provided celebratory cake, chocolates and delicious fudge afterwards as we all gathered outside Grounds café in post-parkrun tradition.

Many many congratulations from all at C&C to Terry . . . who has already moved on to parkrun 501!
