George Brill, a University of Cambridge PhD student is looking for assistance. It would be great if members could help.

“I am a PhD student at Cambridge University looking at the role of body proportions and their relation to running performance in human evolution. I’m currently trying to get hold of elite level runners to collect data on their body proportions, body composition, etc. It’s basically a set of non-invasive body measurements that takes about 20mins per person. I can be very flexible around timings and potentially locations also—King’s College is where I am doing most of it, but also willing to travel if I can get a few people in one place at once!

Hopefully it can be beneficial both ways, giving your runners some interesting information regarding their body composition, lung function, etc.

I’m specifically looking for people around about or faster than the following:

Marathon:               2:42:00 (M); 3:20:00 (F)
Half Marathon:  1:14:00 (M); 1:34:00 (F)
10km:                   34:00 (M); 42:00 (F)
5km:                    16:00 (M); 20:00 (F)

100m:                   11.70 (M); 13.60 (F)
200m:                   23.80 (M); 27.90 (F)
400m:                   53.00 (M); 1:05.00 (F)”

Any athlete over the age of 18 that meets these performance levels can take part. If you are interested in taking part contact George Brill on: [email protected]
