COVID Secure Declaration

Updated 4th October 2020

To enable us to give coaches the freedom to train more than 5 athletes, we have introduced an updated COVID-19 declaration form which is now a Google form. Please click here to fill this out for all training from 5th October onwards. This adds the explicit confirmation that you’ll inform the coach or a club official if you are tested positive within 14 days of training with a C&C group. This allows us to run a COVID-Secure environment.

Thank you

Dear all,

It’s great news that we can start to use the University’s Wilberforce Road track facilities for training again from Monday 3rd August. As you can imagine, however, there are quite a few changes that have had to be made to minimise risks of transmission.

For this reason, I need to ask all of you who train with the club to sign a declaration form to indicate that you understand the rules we have put in place before train for the first time. This document points towards a special set of Club rules as well as the most recent England Athletics guidelines.

Please read the rules and the declaration, sign, and date then email to [email protected]  – I’m asking everyone to do this before attending any training session organised by C&C coaches whether at the track or not. All of the forms will be deleted as soon as the current training restrictions are eased.

Why are we taking this “heavy-handed” approach? For multiple reasons:

1) We want everyone to enjoy athletes training even during the on-going Coronavirus pandemic. By understanding and following some basic rules, we can continue to do that while minimising risks

2) In order to retain UKA insurance, we need to show how we are following the latest England Athletics guidelines

3) As part of the planning work to support the University of Cambridge’s efforts to get their sporting facilities back in use, we needed to provide evidence of Covid-19 risk assessments. We followed the EA’s examples to produce C&C’s risk assessment. One of the most important risk mitigation actions is to ensure we communicate the operating procedures to all concerned. The Declaration, backed up by the rules, is an effective way of doing this.

Most of us are keen to get back to training, to get out of the house, to meet our friends and to get some exercise so I hope you can agree that signing and returning the declaration is a simple step to help us all do that.

Please do this as soon as you can and before you sign up to any training sessions. Any questions, please send them to myself: [email protected] and I’ll do my best to answer.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Keith Clarke
