View from the Chair – October 2019

October is a transitional month with the Track and Field season completed and the cross country season getting under way. Our goal is for as many of you as possible to enjoy wearing our colours as you compete – many of you do already and I can only encourage those who haven’t to give it a go. A great way to see how your training is progressing and have some fun.

October also marks the end of our first outdoor Junior Academy season – with immediate benefits of engagement and number of young athletes turning out to compete. Look out for an important notice this month regarding the winter training schedule.

By the time most of you have read this, we will have had our celebration and prize giving with GB athlete Tom Somers telling us about his experiences including paralympic guide running – a great evening to celebrate our club’s athletes and their performances.

A big thank you to those who put themselves forward for the roles needed to help this club run. A great start with a journey ahead to keep us sustainable into the future.

Finally, please put Tuesday 26th November 8pm in your diary for our yearly AGM, to elect your representatives, review the club accounts and fulfill our constitution.

Next month, I’ll talk a little about club strategy and the upcoming committee changes.

regards,

Keith Clarke
