Finally spring is here with some warm and dry weather – the photo is of my “May” tree, only just coming into blossom such has been the weather. The track and field competition season gets under way this month and I’m hoping to enjoy the first of these on Wednesday 2nd June: the Eastern Masters at Sandy for all over 35s.
The second of the club’s warm up events, open to all, is on Monday 14th June evening which is another opportunity to get yourselves prepared. And the first event of our premier senior competition (Southern Athletics League) is 20th June. Please look at the club calendar on the website to find all the dates of events. A team manager will email you if your are in the right age group. Please do compete as often as you are able and if not, volunteer to help us officiate – help is often needed and you’ll always be very welcome.
For the endurance runners among you, don’t forget the virtual Kevin Henry series with races 10-13th June and 08-11th July.
Finally, please put 26th September in your calendar for the Cambourne 10k and Fun Run. This has been delayed from April 2020 and usually raises £1000s for the C&C Trust fund – Please enter if you can and let everyone you know about this event. It will be held following Covid guidelines for a safe race and is always a great event.
That’s all for now – hope to see you at a competition soon.
