It’s the time of year to look forward to what lies ahead and in our case that has to include athletics of some description. We can’t be certain what the short term will bring but we can be hopeful of some track and field and road running activity during the year – the main question is when not if can we get a bit of normality back.
As things stand, the one concrete thing we know definitely is happening is the Frostbite Friendly League which has 4 virtual events left this season: 09-10/01/21, 13-14/02/21, 13-14/03/21 and 10-11/04/21. See http://www.frostbiteleague.org.uk/ . Please do make an effort to run and represent C&C – it’s a fun competition where every runner counts.
Right now, as I write we’re in tier 4 restrictions which mean that U18s can train in groups but adults cannot. The university have offered us some weekend training slots which we hope to use. This could, of course, change during January so do keep looking at the website and for Facebook posts.
UPDATE 6th January – A full lockdown means we can no longer offer any in-person training opportunities. However your please ask your coach for training suggestions you can do in your local area.
Thank you again for being a member of the club through 2020’s difficult times. Please do continue to work with us as we try to offer training and competition in line with government restrictions.
Here’s to some normality in 2021.
All the best,
Chair, C&C AC
