Welcome to the April View from the Chair.
What a relief it is to get people back training together on and off the track, albeit in small groups, and for
the first two days we were treated to the warmest March weather in over 50 years!
Although we may have to wait for spring to fully spring, we can look forward to training and some track and field competition this summer.
Don’t forget the Frostbite Friendly League has one last virtual event left this season: 10th-11th April. See http://www.frostbiteleague.org.uk/ .
We also now have a confirmed date (31st July) for the Cambridgeshire Country Champs which I’d encourage everybody to enter, regardless of standard. See the ‘Save the Date‘ post for more details and we hope to publish the dates of the Track and Field competitions shortly. Please do put the dates your diary as soon as that is published.
Delayed by a whole year, a sub-group from the club committee is re-starting work n the club plan for the next few years – we should be in a position for wider engagement by late spring. We’re looking at issues such as creating a sustainable committee structure and how to improve inclusion of people from all backgrounds in the club.
Here’s looking forward to a summer of warm weather training and competition.
All the best.
