Monday Junior Academy and call for volunteers

Dear all,

We’re really excited to launch the new Monday Junior Academy for young athletes on 25th February – this is a huge step forward in a strategy to enhance the experience  for our young athletes. Those affected are being informed of the details around now.

Last summer we started brainstorming new approaches having been inspired by other large clubs’ approaches to improving progression, a sense of belonging and sustainability.

So I’ll cut to the heart of the matter. We currently have a list of roles that we need filled if we’re to emulate the success we’ve seen elsewhere. Please look on the website volunteer page. If you already volunteer – thank you, you’re a star.

We are looking for 20-30 new parents and carers to step forward please. Email me and we’ll start the conversation on what might fit best with your availability.

Why so many? This will allow us to share many roles and ensure a manageable commitment for each. Note that volunteering by a parent/carer is one factor we will take into account when choosing which young athletes can progress to the 7:30pm slot on Monday’s academy.

This is urgent – the new academy starts shortly and the summer season kicks off in April. A substantial increase in the pool of helpers now will significantly improve the experience for us all in your community athletics club.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Keith
