Monday nights: Academy winter training

Winter training starts on Monday 28th Oct, it will be based at the University Sports Hall, Philippa Fawcett Drive: https://www.cambridgeandcoleridge.org.uk/finding-us

A condition of our booking is that parents DO NOT drive to the entrance for pick-ups and drop-offs. The university is very strict on this and issued us with a formal warning last year. Please park in Car Park 8 shown on the map at the site above. Or apply at the reception for a pass to use Car park 6 or 7. Then walk to the entrance to drop off or pick up. I know this is inconvenient but with so many parents and cars, it can become dangerous and busy on Philippa Fawcett Drive.

Training will be as follows from Monday 28th October 2019 until 10th February 2020:

Those training in the Academy starting at 18.30, their session will run from 18.00 – 19.00 at the University Sports hall

Those training in the Academy starting at 19.30, their session will run from 19.00 – 20.00 at the University Sports hall

There are a number of exceptions to this.

  • The group Mo Park is coaching will stay the same, please speak to Mo directly about this.
  • Chung will take a group of sprinters out meeting at 18.20 at the sports hall and returning at 20.00, they will need hi vis with them as well as warm clothing (hoodies, tights, gloves)
  • The middle distance group will meet at 18.30 at the University Sports Centre and then train on the west site (Please bring appropriate clothing for this)

We also had our awards evening last Monday and handed out medals to those that have competed in a number of league matches throughout the season. If you have competed in 2 or more matches and were not there last Monday please find Ric Park to pick a medal.

Finally, those that received Silver or Gold medals and are currently in the Academy at 18.30 we would like to invite you to join the progression group at 19.00 when we move into the sports hall.

Any questions please don’t hesitate to email Ric Park : Monday@cambridgeandcoleridge.org.uk
