Bronze for Ellie at English Schools’ Championships

Ellie Loosely added to her recent gold medal at the South of England Championships with a superb bronze medal at the English Schools’ Championships.

Ellie smashed her PB by 20 seconds to claim the bronze medal in a time of 9:41.91. This time moved Ellie up to fourth in the U17 UK rankings with another year in the age group. Jenny Leggate also had a very strong run with a fifth place finish in a PB time of 9:48.57 moving her up to sixth in the Uk rankings. Jenny also has another year in this age group.

Alex Melloy fresh from his GB selection opted for the shorter distance of 1500m. Showing his versatility Alex came home with a gold medal; the perfect confidence boost for his European U20 Championships debut.

Continuing the strong performances by the middle distance athletes, Thomas Bridger ran a massive PB in the 2000 steeple chase 6:02.49 to claim victory in his last English Schools’ Championships.

Isaac Rothwell added to the medal haul with a bronze in the Inter Boys 3000m with a PB – 8:36.03.
