Beginners' & Monday Running Group

If you are a beginner or non-runner (aged 15 or above), just come down and join us any Monday (except Bank Holidays) at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start - just introduce yourself to the running leader that evening, and they will look after you and introduce you to the session.

Monday night running group:
On Mondays there are sessions for runners who on average run at 9 minutes per mile pace, and slower. This group runs throughout the year (excluding BHs).

Monday adult running group meets at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start at the University Sports Ground, Wilberforce road. We meet in the foyer of the main building. Introduce yourself to the leader of the session, and they will welcome you and introduce you to the session for the evening.

Please try to wear white or reflector tops for night running for safety reasons.

There are lots of reasons to get up and running even if you can only walk, and maybe jog a little bit, at present:
• Lose weight
• Improve health & fitness
• De-stress
• Feel good
• Have fun and meet new friends
So why not take that small, but important step now? This group is designed for total beginners to running. All sessions will have a fun walk/run element to slowly improve your fitness over a period of time. Come down any evening to meet the leaders, and give us a go.
At the University Sports Ground, Wilberforce Road there is a large free car park area and showering/changing facilities available till 8.30pm.

    Congratulations to our English Schools medallists. Thomas Keen (U17M 3000m), Julia Paternain (U20W 3000m) and Adelaide Omitowoju (U17W Triplejump) all took gold, and Stephanie Browne took silver in U15Girls Hammer. Unlucky Jordan Wood was 4th in the U20Mens steeplechase.

    C&C had 16 competitors in the Cambridgeshire team and one in the Bedfordshire team.

Important Notices

Note: The last indoor Young athletes session will be Monday 11th February, then a week off for half-term and then starting again outdoors on Monday 25th February. Unless you have been told otherwise, all U13s and U15s should arrive for the 6:30pm session.

The 2018 AGM was held on Tuesday 27th November and the draft minutes are here including the chair's report - Please read if you weren't able to attend. The accounts to end March 2018 were presented and the decision to keep subs unchanged for 2019 was explained.
